Darian Roseboro making college decision on Friday

Well, here it is. The day those who have followed four-star defensive end Darian Roseboro's (Lincolnton, NC) recruitment have been waiting for. He will make a college decision on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

The decision will be made on ESPN.com between Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina and North Carolina State. Roseboro is the sixth ranked strong side defensive end in the class of 2015, according to the 247 Composite.

Michigan looks like the team to beat and I feel pretty comfortable saying that they will be the hat he chooses on Friday afternoon, although some others disagree. Over the last few weeks, talk of him staying in-state with NC State has picked up, but ultimately, the Wolverines look like the place for him.

Fellow Maize n Brew writer Anthony Mammel shared his thoughts with our own Joshua Henschke on why he believes the Wolverines are in the driver's seat for Roseboro.

Michigan's chances with Roseboro are fantastic, if not better. The Wolverines have been near or at the top of his list for quite some time now, and he has mentioned them to the media enough times to validate the assumption that they're the clear favorite. He's assumed to be a strong-side defensive end capable of playing the 3-tech, so getting him would be great for the defensive line's depth, as well as its overall talent level.

I can't say I disagree with any of that. When the time comes this afternoon, it is likely Roseboro will be donning the maize and blue.

Mike Weber talks Michigan commitment

Everyone was shocked a few weeks back when four-star 2015 running back Mike Weber (Detroit, MI) announced his commitment to the University of Michigan. Perhaps the surprise was not in the destination itself, but rather how soon it came. Weber had stated in the past he wanted to announce at the Under Armour All-American Game, but that obviously changed.

Regardless, Michigan pulled its biggest target at the running back position in this class after Damien Harris decommitted earlier this year. Regardless, Weber is still a fantastic player who will fit in nicely and knows what his role is and what he has to work for.

"I picked Michigan because of Coach Nussmeier and what he told me as far as how they would use me," Weber said. "They'll have some running backs leaving. It was like home. My parents will be able to watch me play every weekend too. I looked at the pros and cons of all the schools I was considering and Michigan had way more pros than cons."

He also said that Michigan's offense under Doug Nussmeier is very similar to what they run at Cass Tech, so he appears to be comfortable in that regard, too.

What sticks out the most about this young man is his attitude. He is a very positive guy with a good head on his shoulders and he, along with some of his fellow 2015 commits, are eager to hit campus and help bring the Michigan football program back to prominence.

"I see a lot of guys coming in and I see Coach Nussmeier turning things around on offense," Weber said. "They have a different attitude now when I go there to watch practice. There was a lot of enthusiasm and I feel like they're building momentum. I'm going to do everything I can to help. Guys like Alex Malzone and Brian Cole are coming in with the same attitude that we're going to turn things around."

Brian Cole goes all out in latest game

Four-star athlete Brian Cole (Saginaw, MI) is the number one prospect in the state of Michigan, but on Thursday night he took his game to another level in a 24-6 win for Saginaw Heritage over Saginaw Arthur Hill.

The Wolverine's Brandon Brown was in attendance for last night's game, where Cole dropped a very impressive stat line.

So, yeah, he was everywhere on the field. That is as impressive as it gets.

Cole played primarily running back last season for Heritage, but it looks like this year he will be used in all facets of the game. I'm not sure if he will grab a fifth star or not, and it doesn't really matter at the end of the day if he does, but he is that type of talent.

It is only a matter of time before he hits campus, as it looks like he is planning on enrolling early in January. While he can play everywhere, offense looks to be where he will stick in Ann Arbor, but we will see. His talent and skill set will allow him to be successful wherever they put him if the staff uses him effectively.

Possible weekend visitors

Michigan opens up their 2014 season Saturday afternoon against Appalachian State. While it is a rematch of one of the most famous games in college football history, news on the recruiting visitors front has been a bit slow this week.

Some of their in-state guys will likely be in attendance, headlined by 2016'ers in defensive back LaVert Hill (Detroit, MI) and defensive end Khalid Kareem (Farmington Hills, MI).
