Michigan has owned Minnesota for, like, forever.

I want to hug him!
I want to hug him!
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota almost never wins in this series, yet this is a great "rivalry" and it boasts perhaps the best trophy in all of college football. Okay, I know it's just a big jug, but who doesn't like big...well, I won't be lewd.

Let's give the Minnesota fans who may be here today a warm welcome (not the kind we give at the stadium). They are super nice people; especially if they're from the Iron Range. If we have any Rangers here, go ahead and identify yourself in the comments--I may or may not ask you to send some potica and a pasty to me. Welcome to Maize n Brew! Sit back, relax, and enjoy some witty banter.

We're all wishing for something along the lines of not sucking from both teams today. They can do that, right?

You know what doesn't suck? Maize n Brew. We're awesome. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. That's why you've already read:

- Fouad's Preview.

- the Roundtable of Angst.

- Anthony Broome's look at a 2015 commit who may be looking elsewhere.

- YFD because YFD is always good.

- And the storystream for anything else that I may have missed linking.

Okay, so we've all been disappointed with the way things have gone so far, but today is another good opportunity to set things right. You know what I ask you to do: comment like this is the most important thread ever, mind the guidelines, and always Go Blue!

Let's talk about those guidelines quickly, shall we? None of us here are about censorship or anything, but the trigger is going to be quick if things start getting ridiculous on the Gardner/Morris front. Please be respectful in your arguments for or against. No ad hominem arguments directed at players on/off the field or any of the other commenters. I would typically give a warning in the comment section to knock it off, but that's not happening today. If I sense that things are going the wrong way, the warnings and bans will come quick and hard.

Today's tune is brought to you by the other influential Bob from Minnesota...Bob Mould.
