Two iconic college football programs could be set to face-off against one another in the near future.

At least that is what one Texas writer is reporting.

According to writer Anwar Richardson, Michigan and the University of Texas are in talks to schedule a home-and-home series sometime in the 2020's.

This scheduled series would be the second and third meeting between two programs that have been trending downward over the years. The two teams last played each other in the 2005 Rose Bowl where the Longhorns prevailed with a last second field goal to win 38-37.

A report had surfaced previously that Michigan was in talks to schedule two "huge" home-and-home series. It was later announced that the University of Washington one was one of those opponents.

This is a developing story.
