We're five weeks into the college football season, and we're starting to gain a solid understanding about how teams will perform in 2015. With that in mind, we at Maize n Brew will begin to publish a Bowl Projection Roundup each week that informs you the bowls in which various media outlets project Michigan will participate. After five weeks during which Michigan earned a 4-1 record with dominating wins over Oregon State, UNLV, then-No. 22 BYU, and Maryland and seven-point road loss to No. 5 Utah, the Wolverines have been rising in the bowl projections.
And there is one in particular that we think that you will very much enjoy:
SB Nation: Rose Bowl vs. Stanford
ESPN: Holiday Bowl vs. USC
CBS Sports: Citrus Bowl vs. Ole Miss
Rose Bowl? ROSE BOWL?! This is not aiding me in my attempt to temper expectations.
Here is what Jason Kirk had to say about slotting Michigan into the Rose Bowl (!):
I didn't plan HARBOWL. HARBOWL happened.
First, Michigan just plain looks better than Michigan State, and their meeting is in Ann Arbor. As with Ohio State, I'm trusting MSU gets it together at some point, but it feels a little silly to look at what the Spartans and Wolverines have done to this point and assume it's all a mirage.
I hope it's not a mirage either.
We'll continue to update this post if more bowl projections are released.
