Michigan is need of a big win after it suffered a disappointing 86-70 home loss to No. 23 Xavier last Friday, and the Wolverines will have an opportunity to earn one tonight. They face off against No. 18 UConn in the opening round of the prestigious Battle 4 Atlantis holiday tournament. As I mention in my game preview, this will not be an easy matchup for Michigan. The Huskies feature some talented guards and wings on the perimeter along with arguably the best shot-blocker in the country in Amida Brimah. However, UConn isn't as committed to scoring down low or getting to the free-throw line, so I like this matchup for Michigan better than Xavier. Nonetheless, Michigan needs to play its best tonight.
If Michigan wins, the Wolverines will face Syracuse, who beat Charlotte, 86-70, earlier this afternoon, on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. If they lose, they will face the 49ers on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET on AXS TV.
