Game Thread: Michigan vs. Delaware State

Michigan faces one of the worst D-I teams today, but injuries in addition to Spike Albrecht and Derrick Walton's loom over the Wolverines.

The Basics

Who: Delaware State Hornets (0-8)

When: Saturday, December 12th, at Noon ET (ESPNU)

Where: Crisler Center -- Ann Arbor, Mich.

Spread: Vegas: -29 | KenPom: W, 78-53 (99% WP)

This shouldn't be much of a contest. Though Michigan is coming off a blowout loss at the hands of unbeaten SMU, Delaware State is winless and considered by KenPom to be one of the worst five D-I teams in the nation. As a result, both Vegas and KenPom project that Michigan should cruise to at least a 25-point win. Michigan just needs not oversleep.

The bigger question, though, is what team will Michigan field against the Hornets. Derrick Walton has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle, Spike Albrecht announced his retirement from Michigan basketball on Friday due to his hips, and John Beilein added on Friday that there were even more injuries in practice on Thursday. Beilein declined to provide details about these latest injuries, informing the media that we'll find out about them today. That will be the game's biggest development.
