Green Bay Gamblers center Connor Murphy has switched his commitment from Michigan to Cornell and will join their program next year.
Very excited to announce my commitment to Cornell University for next season! Thanks to all for the support. @CUBigRedHockey

Murphy committed to the program two years ago as a budding star playing for Caledonia in Canadian Junior B. After a year in the USHL with the Chicago Steel Murphy signed his letter of intent and was expected to join the 2015 class but instead went back to the USHL for another year. Now he has been released from his letter of intent and the two have parted ways.
Moving forward depth at center has become a concern. The Wolverines lost three centers from a year ago, recruit Sam Miletic and now Murphy.
Max Shuart and Cooper Marody will return next year but Boo Nieves will graduate and JT Compher will likely be deciding whether or not to turn pro. Unless another player joins an already massive recruiting class for 2016, the only natural center coming in is Steven Merl who will join the program from the Bloomington Thunder.
