X-Ray Negative on Derrick Walton's Left Ankle
The x-ray on Derrick Walton's left ankle, which he injured in Michigan's 66-59 win at North Carolina State on Tuesday night, came back negative, according to John Beilein on his weekly radio show on Wednesday night. This means that the injury is only a sprain, albeit a bad one, and there's no other damage. Beilein added that he doesn't know when Walton will be back but hopes it won't be too long.
Walton also injured his left toe last season. Unlike last year when Walton tried to play through the pain and had to be sidelined for the rest of the season, Walton should have time to rest and heal in the next month as five of Michigan's next six games are against cupcakes at home.
