Wednesday Michigan Recruiting Roundup: Coaches Drop in on More Elite Targets

In this edition, have a look at who visited who this week, the targets that Michigan has offered, and much more.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, the coaching staff was busy with in-home visits of some elite Michigan targets. This week, it doesn't appear they are slowing down. Here's a rundown of each athlete that received a visit from a Wolverine coach:

2016 5* RB Kareem Walker

Michigan is pulling out all the stops to land the number one running back in the 2016 class, and that includes sending Coach Harbaugh and running back coach Tyrone Wheatley on an in-home visit with the elite target.

Per Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 ($), there is nothing new to report on Walker's status with Michigan. The 247 Crystal Ball is still in favor of Walker being in Ann Arbor next season, as it has been since he decommitted from Ohio State.

Per his Twitter page, Walker had an in-home visit with Arizona State yesterday.

2016 4* TE Jacob Mathis; 2018 OL Nicholas Petit-Frere

Linebackers coach Chris Patridge dropped in on these two athletes on Monday, according to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 ($). This was the second visit for Mathis in recent weeks, as tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh paid him a visit two weekends ago.

The 247 Crystal Ball heavily favors Florida at the moment to land Mathis' services, as it is believed that he wants to play football down south.

2016 4* WR Dylan Crawford

Per Clint Brewster of Wolverine247 ($), coach John Baxter paid a visit to the elite wide receiver on Tuesday. This was his second visit in as many weeks, as Coach Harbaugh dropped in on him last week.

The 247 Crystal Ball has Oregon in the slight lead to land Crawford, with Michigan and Stanford close behind.

2016 3* S Khaleke Hudson

On Sunday, Wolverines secondary coach Mike Zordich paid a visit to three-star 2016 safety Khaleke Hudson. Per his Twitter, it was a "great home visit."

Michigan offered Hudson back in November per Clint Brewster of Wolverine247 (FREE). His Crystal Ball is currently in favor of West Virginia.

He is set to visit Michigan during the weekend of January 15.

2016 3* TE Nick Eubanks

Jay Harbaugh visited three-star 2016 tight end Nick Eubanks on Monday, according to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 ($). He is currently ranked at No. 12 at his position in the 2016 class.

Per the article, the visit went well. Eubanks is high on Michigan's extensive use of the tight end position.

2016 3* OT Will Fries

Patridge also dropped in on three-star 2016 offensive tackle and Penn State commit Will Fries on Monday, according to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 ($).

He is currently ranked as the No. 10 prospect out of the state of New Jersey in the 2016 cycle.

4* ATH Announces Decommitment from Michigan

The Wolverines received a decommitment on Monday morning in the form of four-star 2016 athlete Victor VIramontes (Norco, CA).

Via his Twitter account:

Viramontes was slated to compete for the starting quarterback position for next season. He holds offers from Cal, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, among others.

Michigan is now left with 21 commits in the 2016 class.

Michigan Extends More Scholarship Offers

2018 4* DB Tyson Campbell

Per Brandon Brown of TheWolverine.com and Rivals (FREE), the Wolverines have extended an offer to four-star 2018 defensive back Tyson Campbell (Fort Lauderdale, FL). According to the (early) 247Composite rankings on Campbell, he sits at No. 9 in the class for his position and 13th in the state of Florida.

Campbell also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, and LSU, among others.

2018 DE Dorian Hardy

Per Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 (FREE), Michigan has offered 2018 defensive end Dorian Hardy out of Montvale, NJ.

This is the first offer for the unranked recruit.

2017 OLB Drew White; 2018 DE Nik Bonitto

The Wolverines have also offered two athletes from St. Thomas Aquinas HS (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in 2017 outside linebacker Drew White and 2018 DE Nik Bonitto, per Clint Brewster of Wolverine247 (FREE). White also holds offers from Cincinnati and Florida Atlantic, while Bonitto boasts offers from several universities including Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. Bonitto is currently ranked as the No. 3 defensive end in his class.

2017 4* CB Deommodore Lenoir

In addition to these athletes, the coaching staff kept busy by offering another target in 2017 Top100 cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (Los Angeles, CA). Ryan Bartow of Wolverine247 (FREE) reported this news early on Monday.

Lenoir is currently ranked at No. 9 at the CB position and 66th overall in his class.

Check out his highlights reels here.

2017 4* LB Breon Dixon

Per his Twitter page, Michigan has extended an offer to four-star 2017 linebacker Breon Dixon (Suwanee, GA). He is currently ranked as the 13th OLB in the 2017 cycle.

Dixon also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee, among others.

Take a look at his junior year highlights here, per Hudl.

2017 3* CB Trajan Bandy

As he reported on his Twitter on Monday night, the Wolverines have extended an offer to three-star 2017 cornerback Trajan Bandy (Miami, FL). Bandy is ranked at No. 29 at the cornerback position in the 2017 cycle.

He also boats offers from Alabama, Clemson, and Tennessee, along with others.

Top Michigan Target to Make Decision Next Week

Highly-touted 2016 inside linebacker Devin Bush Jr. (Hollywood, FL) announced on Twitter on Monday that he will make his decision on Wednesday, December 16. Per the 247Composite, Bush Jr. is the 11th-ranked LB in his class.

According to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 ($), Bush Jr. has two teammates (Flanagan HS) that have already committed to the Wolverines in linebacker/safety Devin Gil and defensive back Josh Metellus. He unofficially visited Ann Arbor back in October for the game against Northwestern.

Per Lorenz, Coach Harbaugh paid a visit to the athlete over the weekend. Michigan, Florida State, and Auburn are believed to be his top three.

Isaac Nauta Will Release Top 3 on Dec. 20

Per his Twitter page on Sunday, the number one tight end in the nation will release his top three on Sunday, December 20.

Michigan should crack this list, as Nauta took his official visit to Ann Arbor back in October and the coaching staff has been pushing hard for him, including a visit from tight end coach Jay Harbaugh last week.

Georgia appears to be the favorite as of now, however that is certainly subject to change.

2017 4* WR Includes Michigan in Top 10

Per his Twitter page on Sunday night, four-star 2017 wide receiver Tarik Black (Cheshire, CT) released his top 10, and Michigan made the cut.

According to the 247Composite, Black is ranked as the No. 14 WR in his class and first in the state of Connecticut.

Other than Michigan, the Top100 athlete's list included Alabama, Arizona State, Duke, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Rutgers, UCLA, and Virginia Tech.

ICYMI: Michigan Picks Up Commitment from 2017 4* OT

Over the weekend, Michigan picked up a commitment from 2017 four-star offensive tackle JaRaymond Hall (Oak Park, MI). Per the 247Composite, Hall is ranked as the No. 30 OT in the 2017 cycle and fifth overall in the state of Michigan.

Hall also boasted offers from Ole Miss, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others.
