Hoops Thread: Michigan at Michigan State

Sit down on a winter day and talk basketball with Maize n Brew!

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Good Sunday afternoon, everyone. Are you ready for today's huge game? I'm obviously talking about the Super Bowl. Is anyone really going to watch the basketball game today?

It's a trip to East Lansing that probably won't end the way we'd like. But, man would it be awesome if there were some late-game heroics to lift the maize and blue over the green and white. We've seen it before, and it changed Michigan basketball for the better. It is possible to have something like that happen again, but let's look at what Fouad has to say.

I have no idea how this will turn out; Michigan State is one of those games that always gets my guts in knots, whether it's on the court, the ice, or the gridiron. But that's what rivals are for, isn't it?

Today could be a good game, or it could be a bloodbath. Either way, I won't be watching; I'll be at work during the day so I can stay home and watch the Super Bowl--by the way, be sure to stop by for the open thread MnB will have going. Of course, I decide to work during the day, and Old Man Winter decides he wants to stop by for a visit. I'll be seeing somewhere around 6"-8" of snow today. I'm not too upset about it--No. 1: I like snow. No. 2: I'll finally be able to use that damn snow blower I bought!

Enjoy the basketball today. I'll still be around the thread to spy on you and then back for the Super Bowl and Tom Brady's fourth ring. Until then, comment like this is the most important thread ever, mind the guidelines, and always Go Blue!

No film reference today, but in honor of Michigan State's Lourawls Nairn, Jr...
