Good Sunday, everyone. Yes, given the last thread's performance, I'm still going to attempt another one. And since this is a Sunday afternoon game, I'll actually be around to participate.
The season has certainly gone into the gutter, hasn't it? So much so that John Beilein said that it's NIT or bust for the Wolverines. And disappointingly, it's not just the basketball team having a rough go of it. Hockey lost to Ohio State on Friday, and lacrosse lost to Notre Dame on Saturday. I'm depressed, are you depressed?
You know what else is depressing? I sliced the hell out of my hand and needed a trip to the emergency room. Although I should go all Brian Williams and come up with a really cool story to go along with my injury, the reality is much more pedestrian. Someone got a bag of chips stuck in a vending machine, so I figured I'd help out by rocking the machine to jar the bag loose. Well, the piece of metal sticking out of the front of the machine decided to take a trip through my flesh and leave a 2 1/2 inch laceration. The worst part about it all is that I got the trip to the hospital, five stitches, but no chips. AND I gave my lunch to the guy who got his chips stuck in the first place. I mean, it's kind of hard to eat when you're bleeding to death.
The moral of that story: if you see one of these signs, follow those instructions. From now on, my face will probably be on all of these things.
Anyway, let's do our best to enjoy today's game. If it doesn't go the way we want, there's always the Oscars tonight! My hopes--Best Picture: American Sniper or Grand Budapest Hotel; Best Director: Iñárritu or Wes Anderson; Best Actor: Michael Keaton; Supporting Actor: Edward Norton; Best Actress: Marion Cotillard; Supporting Actress: Keira Knightley. Who are you rooting for? Let me know in the comments.
