Michigan extended a scholarship offer to 2016 defensive end Willie Baker (Livonia, Louisiana) on Tuesday afternoon, according to his Twitter account.

He spoke to Maize n Brew shortly after the offer was extended to him from defensive coordinator DJ Durkin and director of player personnel Chris Singletary.

"It feels amazing coming from a good college for academics and also sports," Baker said.

Durkin and Singletary made it clear they think that he would be a good fit in Ann Arbor.

"They really liked that my style of play is what they are looking for in their defense," he said. "They told me they liked they liked me in the classroom too, with me having a 3.0 (GPA). They really think I could fit in at the University of Michigan."

Baker said any potential visit to the university would likely come later on in the process in the form of an official visit. He also believes that having Jim Harbaugh in Ann Arbor is "going to better the program."

He is a three-star prospect and the 24th ranked weak-side defensive end in the class of 2016, per the 247 Composite.
