Hyman finished 7th in the national scoring race with 49 points after hanging with Eichel and Ciampini for most of the year, despite only scoring twice on the power play this year. Hyman also led the Big Ten in scoring and won the fan vote. His 1.44 point per game average is just a shade below Kevin Porter's 1.46 from the year he won the award.
Minnesota defenseman Mike Reilly was the Big Ten's second selection. From the state of Michigan, Tanner Kero of Michigan Tech was included as well. Dylan Larkin did not make the list.
Most seasons Hyman could have a shot to win, but it's Jack Eichel's award this year. Eichel led the nation in scoring with 61 points and a 1.79 PPG average.
