It's only fitting that Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh's return to college football will be played in primetime under the lights.
The university announced on Monday in a statement that the Wolverines first trip to Utah in program history will be played in primetime on Fox Sports 1. The season opener on Sept. 3 will kick-off at 8:30 p.m.
The game against Utah will mark the third night game of the season for Michigan with games against Maryland (Oct. 3 8:30 p.m.) and Minnesota (Oct. 31 8:30 p.m.) away from Michigan Stadium. There will not be a home night game scheduled for the Wolverines this season.
The upcoming contest against the Utes will be the third meeting between the two teams. With Utah winning last season's matchup 26-10 in a weather-delayed contest.
Game times and networks for the remaining scheduled games, including Big Ten conference games, will be announced at a later date.
