Richardson camped at Michigan's Miami under the light camp earlier this month and received an offer shortly after the event was over. Richardson is the former teammate of current Wolverine signee, defensive end Shelton Johnson.
Richardson told 247Sports' Steve Lorenz that having Johnson at Michigan was "big" shortly after being offered by the Wolverines.
"It's big that Shelton will be there," he said. "Michigan is a good school and having someone you know go there makes it a lot more comfortable when it's far away. I had a lot of fun at the camp too. I got to play the style of defense that Michigan wants to play, and talked with Coach Harbaugh. He's a really cool guy. I'm hoping to come up on one of my bye weeks this season, but I'm not sure when those dates are."
Richard is ranked the 88th cornerback in the country and 112th in state of Florida.
