The London Knights have made it official with a morning press conference: Green Bay Gamblers forward Sam Miletic has signed with the Knights and will forgo his NCAA eligibility.

Sam Miletic committed to the Wolverines two years ago while playing at Cranbrook before recording 27 points for Green Bay in his first USHL season. Miletic was expected to join the Wolverines as a member of the 2016 class, but any time an organization like London holds the rights to a player there will be a higher risk they don't make it to campus.

Michigan has enjoyed a nice stretch lately losing only one significant recruit, Mississauga defenseman Jared Walsh, to the OHL over the past few years but with Miletic expected to be selected next month in the NHL draft the odds of keeping him committed while sending him to the USHL for another year didn't seem likely to happen.

With the amount of star power Red and his staff have assembled it was inevitable that eventually a player would take his talents north. The silver lining is that the 2016 class is absolutely loaded at forward and his departure a year early gives the coaching staff time to fill his spot
