Incoming Freshman Profiles: Cornerback Keith Washington

Taking a look at Michigan's lone cornerback signees for the class of 2015.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Keith Washington

Position: Cornerback

Height/Weight: 6-2, 170 pounds

Location: Prattville, Alabama (Prattville HS)

The Story

Michigan was able to flip Washington's commitment from California on national signing day, the program he verbally committed to late this past January.

The three-star recruit has the talent to compete on both sides of the ball, but was recruited by the Wolverines to play cornerback. However, Washington was his high school's starting quarterback, in which he throw for over 3,500 yards and 35 touchdowns as a three year starter.

Washington is the 120th ranked player in the state of Alabama by 247Sports, as well as the 76th ranked athlete in the country. Missouri, Miami, Texas Tech, Indiana, Kentucky and Northwestern were among the 24 schools who offered Washington.

ESPN's Recruiting Nation scouting report:

Washington is a bit lighter than would be ideal but he is a long lean athlete that is productive. Will need to develop some more strength from a good weight program but he is still young. Plays with speed as he demonstrates he can both run away from defenders and catch people from behind.
