Name: Karan Higdon
Position: Running Back
Height/Weight: 5-10, 190 pounds
Location: Sarasota, Florida (Riverview HS)
The Story
Your first look at Karan Higdon should be in the article posted by MLive this past February, a week after the three-star running back committed to Michigan on national signing day.
From rejecting head coach Jim Harbaugh's offer to visit the campus, to eventually hopping on a plane after talking it over with his mother, to stepping foot in Ann Arbor for the first time during the largest snow storm of the season.
The No. 64 ranked recruit in the state of Florida was once a Iowa commit, but was convinced to spend his collegiate career further up north, thanks to Michigan's renowned reputation of it's academics.
Higdon also received offers from Duke, South Florida, Arkansas, Nevada and Syracuse, among others.
ESPN's Recruiting Nation scouting report:
Higdon is a productive inside runner with the burst to open up the run game outside but we do not see a big-play element at this stage. Could develop into an every-down back with added size and some growth but if that does not happen we see more of a complementary back who can fit into a number of schemes.
Higdon is currently in no position to receive any significant amount of playing time this upcoming season, with four upperclassmen leading the pack at running back, highlighted by Derrick Green and Ty Isaac. Another incoming freshman who'll make an impact later on in his career.
