Michigan finished second according to Upshur, yet he is not planning on taking an official visit to Ann Arbor.

Southfield Freshman QB Johnson Starts First HS Game

Southfield (MI) freshman QB Sam Johnson, a player on Michigan's radar, competed in his first high school football game this past weekend versus Michigan powerhouse Detroit Cass Tech.

While Southfield lost the game to Cass Tech by a score of 27-0, Johnson showed promise throughout the game. According to Scout.com, Johnson kept a level head versus a tough defense and did not commit any grave errors.

"I think I did pretty good for my first varsity game against a great defense," Johnson told MnB. "I definitely have to get better and also our run game. We only had eight yards rushing."

Final line for Johnson: 12/18 for 118 yards.

Oregon Commit Schedules Visit to Michigan

According to 247Sports ($), Jared Mayden will visit Michigan on September 12 for their matchup versus Oregon State, despite his verbal commitment to Oregon.

The 4-star cornerback from Sachse, TX is rated No. 11 in his class at the position.

In addition to Michigan, Mayden will also pay a visit to South Carolina, Texas, and Washington State.

Wolverines Will Host 4-star OT for ‘The Game'

Per 247Sports (FREE), 4-star offensive tackle Jean Delance announced on Twitter on Monday that he will be present for The Game on November 28.

Delance is ranked 109th overall and is believed to be the primary offensive target remaining for the Wolverines.

Other than Michigan, Delance's top list includes Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Ohio State.

This visit will allow the Michigan coaching staff to leave a final impression on Delance, allowing him to observe the team compete against another of his top 5 teams.
