Game Thread: The Harbaugh legacy starts in Utah

The Harbaugh era starts for real tonight!

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Well, well, well...there seems to be a big event tonight...and it isn't the return of yours truly (you do remember me, right?). I've taken quite the hiatus from Maize n Brew of late, but I feel that it's time to get back into the action, and it just so happens that Michigan football is also getting back into action. Oh, and some guy named Harbaugh will be on the sideline. I haven't heard much about him, other than he's an up-and-comer. I hope he's good.

I'm sure everyone remembers last year's game against Utah in Ann Arbor. The torrential rains, the delayed game, and the 12 fans in the Big House after the game resumed. It's a game that will forever live in my family's memory--I brought my daughter Sofya with me, and we ran like hell back to the car after the sky opened up. As we were running, all I could hear was Sofie yelling, "The rain hurts, daddy!" And hurt it did. Poor kid didn't have a change of clothes in the car for the long ride back to grandma's and grandpa's in Holland, so I had the heat on the whole way. I've been less wet in a swimming pool. And the game's result nothwithstanding, it was one hell of a day to spend with one of my kids.

Tonight's game will hopefully have less rain and a big 'W' for the Block M.

So, what do we have for you here at MnB? Well...

-- Depth chart OR something.

-- Ricky and Anthony introduce you to the Utes.

-- Ah, the memories of that time in between Hoke and Harbaugh. Were you confident or shitting your pants? After the hire, I was confidently shitting my pants.

-- Shash was able to score an exclusive interview with Harbaugh himself. Quite the "get", there, Alex!

-- Some of the staff sat down to discuss tonight's game.

-- Desmond Howard has a few comments on Michigan's chances tonight. I disagree with him on one thing, and I'll address it in the comments below.

-- Finally...Maize n Brew Dave gives us this little gem to get ready, not just for Michigan, but all of college football in 2015.

And there's much more for you sitting around the ol' site; just take a look.

As usual, I'll be your host for the day and evening, but this is your post; make it a great one. Let's continue our reputation for grace when hosting our opponent's fans and give a hearty "Welcome!" to the Utes. For old and new alike, my usual request...comment like this is the most important thread ever, mind the guidelines (seriously!), and always Go Blue!

Today's tune is brought to you by Iggy Pop...
