Wednesday Michigan Recruiting Roundup: Michigan Recruits Excel in Weekend Competition

Several Michigan recruits competed in their respective high school games this past Friday night, and many of them outshined the competition under the lights.

Sophomore guard Marquan McCall and junior tackle Ja'Raymond Hall, teammates at Oak Park (MI), turned heads with their power and athleticism. According to Rivals ($), the running backs relied on them for the entirety of the game to create holes and lay down blocks.

Michigan commit and 2016 linebacker Dytarious Johnson (Prattville, AL) was lights out in Friday's matchup, recording 8.5 tackles, 4.5 of which were for loss. Johnson also blocked not one, but two punts during the game. As reported by Rivals, ($), although Johnson is only a 2* athlete, other schools continue to reach out to him, including Syracuse, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

Perhaps the most eye-opening performance from a Michigan recruit was that of Donovan Peoples-Jones, a junior wide receiver for Detroit Cass Tech. Peoples-Jones was dominant in the game, recording a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown, a 2-point conversion reception, and a 25-yard touchdown catch. Also, this all happened in the first quarter of the game. Rivals ($) stated that while Peoples-Jones is also looking into Florida, Florida State, and USC, he will be very interested in watching Michigan WR Grant Perry in upcoming games for the Wolverines.

4* Linebacker Offered by Michigan

On Monday, 247Sports (FREE) reported that North Carolina outside linebacker Justin Foster was offered by Michigan.

Foster is ranked 43rd nationally in the 2017 recruiting class and is the second ranked OLB according to Rivals.

In addition to Michigan, Foster also boasts offers from Tennessee, LSU, and Clemson, among others.

5* Offensive Tackle Includes Michigan in Top 5

On Tuesday, five-star offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson (Brooklyn, NY) listed Michigan in his top 5 that also included Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, and South Carolina.

While Wilson does not plan on taking any officials this fall, he is looking to visit Michigan, among others, after the conclusion of his junior season.

Wilson is ranked fifth in the nation at the OT position and is the top prospect in the state of New York according to the 247 Composite.
