Michigan has a big showdown with Wisconsin today. To fire the football team up, Michigan alum, future hall of famer, former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter sent shirts along with a letter to Michigan football players.
RE2PECT is earned.

Derek Jeter wrote this letter to our Michigan Football team. “Respect means respecting the game."#GoBlue #WEAREJORDAN pic.twitter.com/2XSIaXKCEB
"In the spirit of our Forged for Greatness partnership between Michigan and Jordan Brand, we created your "RE2PECT IS EARNED" tees together this week for a reason. It is my personal challenge to you all to remain humble, yet hungry, every day along this journey to achieving greatness," Jeter wrote.
Jeter wore #2 for the Yankees, thus the twist on the word “respect”.
"No moment is too big for champions who play with RE2PECT for the game, and no accomplishment is greater than one that is EARNED.”
We’ll see if the message resonated today with a Michigan victory.
