Michigan Still Contender for Top 2017 Recruit; Harbaugh to Visit

Jim Harbaugh's bye week is sure to be a productive one. According to Brandon Brown of Rivals ($), the Michigan head coach will fly out to California to pay a visit to the number one overall recruit in the 2017 class, running back Najee Harris.

The five-star recruit has been committed to Alabama since April of 2015, but per Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 (FREE), his mind is not completely made up. Harris last visited Michigan for the BBQ at the Big House over the summer, and he is expected to return again this season. He stated that he will use his visits to help him make his decision. Brown stated in his article that the thought is Harris will land at either Michigan, Alabama, or USC.

2017 3* FB Decommits from Michigan

Per Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 (FREE) and the athlete's Twitter page on Monday evening, 2017 three-star fullback Chase Lasater has decommitted from Michigan. There now remains 16 verbal commitments in the 2017 class.

Lasater had been committed to the Wolverines since the end of March.

Wolverines Crack Top List for 2018 4* TE

2018 four-star tight end and defensive end Trenton Gillison (OH) informed Evan Petzold of Maize ‘n Brew that Michigan has cracked his list of top six schools. Also on the list are Ohio State, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

The 247Composite lists Gillison as the 7th-best player in Ohio overall and 9th at TE in the nation.
