Michigan QB commit Dylan McCaffrey shines for Valor Christian in Round 1 of playoffs

The pro-style quarterback completed 12-of-15 passes for 221 yards and four touchdowns.

The Valor Christian Eagles, led by Michigan quarterback commit Dylan McCaffrey, bounced the Cherokee Trail Cougars in Round 1 of the Colorado High School Athletic Association State Football Playoffs, 42-0.

McCaffrey shined, completing 12-of-15 passes for 221 yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound pro-style quarterback tacked on 55 yards on the ground.

The Michigan pledge is ranked No. 52 in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. He is the fourth-best pro-style quarterback and the No. 1 athlete from the state of Colorado. McCaffrey committed to play for the Wolverines on February 15, 2015.

Through 11 games this season, McCaffrey has completed 116-of-246 passes for 2,305 yards, 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has added 79 carries for 383 yards and eight touchdowns, while catching two passes for 18 yards and a score.

Next Friday, McCaffrey and the Eagles will battle against Grandview. Valor Christian is ranked No. 3 in the CHSAA 5A Football Playoffs, while Grandview is ranked No. 6.
