Michigan commit Dylan McCaffrey tallies four touchdowns, advances Valor Christian to state semifinals

Valor Christian High School has advanced to the state semifinals behind an outstanding performance from Dylan McCaffrey.

Dylan McCaffrey accounted for four touchdowns in Valor Christian High School’s 66-35 victory over Grandview High School on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Colorado High School Athletic Association State Football Playoffs.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound pro-style quarterback completed 13-of-16 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns. McCaffrey added 98 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Michigan pledge is ranked No. 52 in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. He is the fourth-best pro-style quarterback and the No. 1 athlete from the state of Colorado. McCaffrey committed to play for the Wolverines on February 15, 2015.

Through 12 games for the Eagles, McCaffrey has gone 179-for-262 through the air for 2,543 yards, 29 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has added 85 carries for 481 yards and nine scores this season.

Next up for Valor Christian is Cherry Creek in the state semifinals. Valor Christian is ranked No. 3 in the CHSAA 5A Football Playoffs, while Cherry Creek is ranked No. 7.

The winner of Valor Christian and Cherry Creek will play either No. 1 Pomona or No. 4 Regis Jesuit in the state championship.
