Who: #16 Michigan vs Lake Superior State

Where: Yost Ice Arena

When: Friday and Saturday, 7:35pm

The Wolverines welcome back and old CCHA friend to Yost when the Lake Superior State Lakers visit this weekend.

The Lakers got off to a great start this season under 3rd year coach Damon Whitten with six wins in their first seven games before losing five in a row.

Offensively the Lakers rank 9th in the country in goals per game but that number is pretty inflated by a 25 goal output in their first four games. Since their 5 game losing streak began they have managed more than 2 goals just one time.

The Lakers were shooting at such an unsustainable percentage that they had to regress at some point and it didn’t take long before their leading goal scorers all cooled off. Diego Cuglietta he has been one of the few forwards on the team to maintain his scoring touch through the cold spell. He leads the team with 7 goals.

Gordon Defiel starts in net and has been alright posting a .907 SV% and a 2.15 goals against. Defiel is a three year starter who had a great season last year. He can absolutely steal a game.
