Michigan Basketball vs. Mount Saint Mary’s: How to Watch and GameThread

Chat as the Wolverines look to bounce back in Ann Arbor.

NCAA Basketball: Michigan at South Carolina Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Sports

A hot 4-0 start including a tournament win was sharply dampened last time out, as Michigan Basketball lost ugly against South Carolina. Bad games are bound to happen, although shooting under 20 percent overall and under eight percent from three are rough even for an off night.

Michigan will have a chance to bounce back against Mount St Mary’s on Saturday evening, a team out of Emmitsburg, Maryland. The Mountaineers are 1-5 this season with losses against Minnesota, West Virginia, and Iowa State and their sole win coming over George Mason.

Like many early-season games, this one should not be too competitive for the Wolverines. It should be a good opportunity to find their shooting stroke again before a couple of tougher games in December.

The Mountaineers rank fairly low according to most metrics, while the numbers still like Michigan’s start despite the hiccup against the Gamecocks. A good effort on Saturday will only help those stats, as well as the team’s confidence going forward.

Prediction: Michigan 82, Mount Saint Mary’s 51
