Michigan Nabs Two 2017 Commitments
‘Tis the season for commitment announcements! This week, the Wolverines nabbed two more commits for their 2017 class in 2017 four-star center Cesar Ruiz and 2017 four-star defensive end Deron Irving-Bey.
2017 4* C Cesar Ruiz
Ruiz is the number one-ranked center in the 2017 class and sits at 58th overall in the nation, per 247 (FREE). He is the fifth offensive line commit for the 2017 cycle. With this commitment, the Wolverines jumped both LSU and Oklahoma in the recruitment rankings, and now sit at fourth in the nation. Also rounding out the top five are, in order: Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, and LSU, per the 247Composite rankings.
2017 4* DE Deron Irving-Bey
Michigan continued to dominate in-state recruiting on Monday when Bey announced his commitment to the Wolverines. Bey is ranked as the ninth-best defensive end in the 2017 cycle and fifth overall in Michigan.
With the commitment of this Flint, MI prospect, the Wolverines now have verbal pledges from the top six players in the state of Michigan (Donovan Peoples-Jones, Ambry Thomas, Jaylen Kelly-Powell, Deron Irving-Bey, Josh Ross, Corey Malone-Hatcher). Read here for the complete list (FREE).
