Deontre Thomas is a 6-3, 280 DL out of Mustang, OK. He sits as a 3-star on 247's composite ratings, and visited Michigan recently for their spring game on April 1st. Thomas broke down his visit, and more with MnB.
"I liked everything about Michigan," he said. "It mainly fits me and my play style."
Thomas said he walked away from Ann Arbor with Michigan as his leader.
"I am leaning towards Michigan," he said. "The staff is the greatest, it doesn't get better than them."
Thomas elaborated more on why he liked Michigan, and one element might surprise you coming from an Oklahoma kid.
"I love the weather," he said. "It's the Big Ten, and they're all about academics."
Michigan DL coach Greg Mattison and HC Jim Harbaugh are Thomas' main recruiters, and he spoke on his relationship with them.
"(Coach Harbaugh) is hilarious and a great christian guy," he said. "(Coach Mattison) is the same way (as Harbaugh)."
Thomas has no plans to visit any other schools at the moment, but said he plans to commit at the end of this month.
