Michigan Athletics, along with CBS Radio Detroit in association with IMG, announced today a long-term agreement to broadcast football, basketball and hockey on the local airwaves.
WWJ Newsradio 950 AM, CBS Sports Radio 1270 AM and 97.1 The Ticket FM in the Detroit area will carry the games. WWJ-AM will be the flagship station for football with 97.1 simulcasting select games throughout the season. The Ticket will also do a weekly interview with Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh, per the release.
U-M basketball will also air on WWJ-AM, while the hockey games will be broadcast via 1270 AM.
“We are excited that IMG renewed our great partnership with the CBS RADIO Detroit family,” U-M athletic director Warde Manuel said in the release. “This will continue to provide a consistent flagship home for Michigan football and basketball broadcasts in southeast Michigan and will place our hockey games on a regular channel in the market. We look forward to another multi-year partnership on game broadcasts and coaches radio shows.”
IMG represents the media rights for over 90 universities and collegiate associations nationwide.
