"Their coaches do a great job of recruiting me," Ignont said to Drew Champlin of AL.com. "I like Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. I think he's a great coach. Their players do a really good job of recruiting me. J'Marick Woods is somebody I've been friends with since I was little. We've known each other since third or fourth grade since I've been playing travel basketball against him, I always see him every time I went to Florence. We've always had a special bond and special connection and that's really a huge reason I'm considering Michigan.”
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound athlete is the 197th overall player in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. He is the sixth-best inside linebacker and the 10th ranked player in Alabama.
Ignont has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Troy, UCF, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Charlotte, Florida and Louisville. He has been recruited to Michigan by Tyrone Wheatley and Don Brown.
The Maize and Blue have 18 players committed to the 2017 class. The team has linebackers in Josh Ross, a four-star, and three-star Ben Mason.
