Class of 2016 linebacker signee Dytarious Johnson (Prattville, Alabama) will enroll at Michigan in January after spending his fall semester at prep school, according to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press.
Johnson was a three-star prospect and the 47th-ranked inside linebacker in the nation, according to 247’s composite ranking system. He was one of the commitments to come from Jim Harbaugh’s satellite camp tour in the summer of 2015.
He was the lone commitment to not sign with the program on Feb. 3 due to a problem with his transcript, but he stuck with his commitment to the program and they did the same.
"I stuck with them the whole time," he wrote in a message to the Free Press on his way back to Alabama. "My coaches in high school didn't really know much of my situation so I had to explain it to them because they were trying to give me more options."
Johnson is the second 2016 commitment to reveal he will spend his fall semester at prep school. The other, wide receiver Brad Hawkins, will follow that path, but his status with Michigan moving forward is still unknown.
