Paea, a 2017 three-star defensive tackle from Berrien Springs High School in Berrien Springs, Michigan, is the 35th ranked defensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports.
Aumavae is the 355th overall player in the Class of 2017, according to 247Sports. He is the 26th ranked defensive tackle and is the 38th best player in the state of California.
Aumavae was offered by Michigan on February 16. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle has offers from Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Michigan, San Diego State, UCLA, Utah, and Washington State.
During Paea’s recruitment, it was a tight race between Michigan, Oregon and Notre Dame. Ultimately, the Michigan native went with the Maize and Blue. With Aumavae having Oregon, Washington and Michigan at the top of his list, it could be possible that Paea’s recruitment of Aumavae pushes Michigan to the top.
