6. South Carolina
Along with Michigan, the list includes Alabama, Florida, USC, LSU and South Carolina. Clemson, Kentucky, Louisville, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee, and Troy missed the cut. Tyrone Wheatley and Greg Mattison have been recruiting the defensive tackle who got a Michigan offer on February 25.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound athlete from Mobile, Alabama finished his junior year with 86 tackles, including 17 for a loss. He is the 28th overall player in the state of Alabama, according to 247Sports.
Coming out of Murphy High School, Farrell is the first player in school history to get an offer from Michigan.
"Neil never looks too excited, but I think he was excited about this one," Murphy coach Rick Cauley said to AL.com.
The reason Farrell is a top recruit is because he is extremely athletic. Believe it or not, he plays both basketball and football for his high school.
The three-star will make his decision in December after his senior season.
