Elijah Gates, a 2017 four-star cornerback from Buena Park High School in California, listed Nebraska, Michigan, Oregon, TCU, Notre Dame, UCLA and California in his Top 7.

Gates has offers to play for Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, TCU, UCLA, California, Cincinnati, Colorado, Michigan and Washington State.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound athlete is the 255th ranked player in the country, according to 247Sports. He is the No. 32 cornerback and the 28th-best player in the state of California.

Michigan offered Gates in April and he told Scout.com that he is interested in the Maize and Blue because of coach Jim Harbaugh.

"He is a great coach and coached in the NFL," Gates told Scout. "I think the reason he is getting a lot of kids coming to the school is the networking like the networking part to the NFL. He coached in the NFL and knows what it takes for the young college athletes to get there and how they all work on a personal level."

Gates caught 33 passes for 747 yards and 10 touchdowns for Buena Park High School last season. He added 19 tackles, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
