Alex Leatherwood, committed to Alabama, will officially visit Michigan on October 1st, according to Chad Simmons of Scout.
The five-star offensive tackle from Washington High School in Pensacola, Florida is the ranked No. 5 in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. The only players ranked higher than Leatherwood are Najee Harris (No. 1 - Alabama), Foster Sarell (No. 2), Marvin Wilson (No. 3) and Dylan Moses (No. 4). He is the second-best offensive tackle and the second-best player in the state of Florida.
“I will be visiting Michigan for the Wisconsin game (October 1) and will be my first time visit Michigan,” Leatherwood said to Scout. “Michigan has a need to offensive lineman and I really like the direction the program is going in. I like [Tim] Drevno’s track record with players too.”
The 6-foot-6, 325-pound offensive lineman will visit Alabama on November 26th and then USC, Florida and LSU after the football season is over.
Leatherwood has offers to play for Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, USC, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
