Fall camp is just around the corner for college football programs across the country, meaning off-season hype is about to hit a fever pitch as the season inches closer and closer.
Part of that hype usually comes from polls, and USA Today’s first coaches poll of the season was released on Thursday afternoon.
Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines come in as a the eighth-ranked team in the country behind Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida State, Ohio State, LSU and Stanford, in that order.
The Big Ten has eight teams in the top-50 in OSU (5), U-M (8), Michigan State (11), Iowa (15), Wisconsin (27), Northwestern (34), Nebraska (38) and Indiana (50). The Wolverines will play each of the above teams in 2016, except for Northwestern.
