Game Preview: Michigan Football vs. Colorado

Everything you need to know about Saturday’s game, including streaming info and broadcast information, can be found here.

NCAA Football: Hawaii at Michigan Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The fourth-ranked Michigan Wolverines (2-0) welcome the Colorado Buffaloes (2-0) to the Big House on Saturday afternoon to close out the non-conference slate of games in 2016.

The Buffaloes are the first Power 5 conference team the Wolverines faces this season and should give Michigan their toughest challenge yet, at least mathematically speaking. The Wolverines are only a 20-point favorite in this contest.

This matchup brings to mind the game in 1994, a Colorado win in Ann Arbor dubbed the "Miracle at Michigan." We do not need to revisit that here, but needless to say a victory for the Buffaloes on Saturday would be a far bigger upset.

The 2016 Colorado team has looked pretty darn solid out of the gates in winning their first two games. They’ve outscored their first two opponents, Colorado State and Idaho State, by a combined score of 100-14.

Colorado runs an up-tempo offense, which could play right into their hands if they want to make this a close game. Michigan struggled against a UCF team that did the same last week and they were seen as an inferior opponent to the Buffaloes.

Michigan put some mistakes on film to correct last week, but this should be a focused effort and it will be interesting to see if the defense bounces back and Wilton Speight continues his strong play at quarterback.

Prediction Time

I have Michigan winning this game 38-17. The final score here probably indicates a closer game than it will be, but I can see Colorado putting some points on the board late.
