Wednesday Michigan Recruiting Roundup: 2017 5* LB to Visit Michigan This Weekend

In this edition, one of the top-ranked players in the 2017 class announces his visit to Michigan this weekend, and more.

2017 5* LB to Visit Michigan This Weekend

According to Steve Lorenz of Wolverine247 (FREE), among those in attendance for this weekend's game against Wisconsin will be 2017 five-star linebacker Baron Browning (TX). The 247Composite lists Browning as the second-ranked OLB in the nation and ninth overall.

This will be Browning's first official visit of the season, per Lorenz, and his second to Ann Arbor since June. He seems to be highly considering several schools, including Texas, Baylor, Ohio State, and TCU.

There will several other notable athletes in Ann Arbor this weekend, including Top247 LB Jordan Anthony and Top247 WR Oliver Martin.

Wolverines Crack Top 14 for 2018 4* DB

According to his Twitter page on Monday evening, 2018 four-star defensive back Kalon Gervin (MI) has included Michigan in his list of top 14 schools. He is the third-ranked athlete in the state of Michigan and 199th overall in the nation.

The 247 Crystal Ball is currently in favor of the Wolverines landing Gervin, however there is still quite a bit of time left in his recruiting process.

Michigan James Hudson Impressing at HS Level

Per Brandon Brown of Rivals ($), 2017 four-star defensive end and Michigan commit James Hudson (OH) is turning heads. In the article, which you will need a subscription to Rivals in order to read in full, Hudson is mentioned as having a large influence on his team's 5-0 start on their way to the state championship.

Coach Mattison attended Hudson's game a few weeks ago and was very impressed by what he saw.
