Jim Harbaugh and the fifth-ranked Michigan Wolverines (1-0) continue their 2016 football season on Saturday afternoon when the University of Central Florida Knights (1-0) come to Ann Arbor for a visit.
Michigan dominated its season opener against Hawaii by a score of 63-3 and they come into this game as a huge favorite once again. The Wolverines played fast and were led on offense by an efficient Wilton Speight and breakout performance from true freshman running back Chris Evans.
The first game of the Scott Frost era at UCF started off well in a 38-0 win over South Carolina State. The Knights went 0-12 in 2015, so to start the year off win a win was obvious a step in the right direction for the rebuilding program.
Justin Holman will get the start at quarterback for the Knights. His skill-set is a good fit in Frost’s offense and is a player that can run the zone-read, so it will be another solid test for Don Brown’s Michigan defense as they break in a new linebacking corps.
Like Hawaii, UCF is not a team that Michigan should really struggle with. A 60-point win does not seem likely, but if they do what they should on both sides of the football, the Wolverines should have no problem covering the 35.5 point spread.
Prediction: Michigan 41, UCF 3
