According to Barton Simmons of 247Sports, 2017 five-star running back Najee Harris has requested a flight change to Alabama.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound running back is ranked No. 1 in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. He is the top running back and the best player in the state of California.
Simmons was told by a U.S. Army All-American Bowl operations source that Harris has requested a flight change to land in Alabama, instead of his home state of California.
On Thursday morning, sources told 247Sports that Harris was going to take a plane to California, his home state, after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. On Wednesday, Alabama quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa told 247Sports’ Hank South that Harris would fly with him to The Yellowhammer State. Tagovailoa also said that he will room with Harris in Tuscaloosa.
In the 2016 season for Antioch High School (CA), Harris ran the ball 291 times for 2,776 yards and 34 touchdowns. He added 15 receptions for 260 yards and two scores.
Editor’s note (Nick): We are hearing about conflicting reports regarding Najee Harris - which is not really a surprise given how little solid information there is about him - and the legitimacy of any or all of these reports could be called into question very easily.
Needless to say, this has been a messy story to both cover and follow, so please try to take all of this with a giant-sized grain of salt. We’ll do our best to keep you up to date with whatever new info comes out.
