According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, there has been preliminary discussions about moving the Michigan vs. Florida season opener at AT&T Stadium to September 3rd, which is a Sunday.
The game is currently set for Saturday, September 2nd. The only way to change the date of the game is to have both schools, Michigan and Florida, sign off on it.
September 2nd features Alabama vs. Florida State, so moving Michigan vs. Florida to September 3rd would be a chance at back-to-back nights of television with top programs battling on the field. According to FBSchedules.com, there are not any college games on Sunday, September 3rd.
On Monday, September 4th, there is a Labor Day game schedule between Georgia Tech and Tennessee.
The last time Michigan played at AT&T Stadium was against Alabama in the Cowboys Classic. No. 2 Alabama dispatched No. 8 Michigan in that 2012 regular season matchup, 41-14.
