Jim Harbaugh and Co. received news late this past week that 4-star offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor, who was committed to the University of Michigan at the time, was cancelling his game visit against Rutgers.
It was clear why he cancelled that visit.
Ekiyor announced Sunday on Twitter that he has flipped his commitment from Michigan to the University of Alabama.

— Emil Ekiyor Jr. (@bigE__18) October 29, 2017
At 6-foot-2 and 322 pounds, Ekiyor is the 105th overall recruit, No. 1 rated player from Indiana and the No. 2 rated center in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He was the highest rated player committed to Michigan, but that title is now held by recent tight end commit Mustapha Muhammad.
The Wolverines now only have two offensive linemen commitments in the 2018 class — 4-stars Jalen Mayfield and Ryan Hayes, who are both from the state of Michigan.
The reason Ekiyor flipped his commitment is unknown at this time, but let’s remember that he is a high school football player trying to follow his dreams of playing football at a higher level. I urge all Michigan fans to NOT tweet at him or any other recruits.
