When Wilton Speight suffered an injury against Purdue two weeks ago, things didn’t look good. Speight took a hit that bent his head and neck forward. He exited the game and didn’t return, leaving John O’Korn to helm the offense for the Michigan Wolverines.
During the bye week, Harbaugh announced that Speight would miss multiple weeks and that O’Korn would be the starting QB in the interim. Leading up to kickoff, ABC’s Chris Fowler said on air that Speight told the crew he had three fractured vertebrae. An injury of that type likely jeopardizes the remainder of Speight’s season. Prior to the game, Speight was seen in street clothes with some sort of back brace on under his sweatshirt.
