Jim Harbaugh took to the podium a short time ago for his Monday press conference. Harbaugh talked about Michigan’s win over Maryland and provided some injury updates.

Monday Presser Recap

  • “I think our defensive line set the tone from the get-go” against Maryland
  • Said Wisconsin has a very physical defense, good quarterback and running back
  • Wilton Speight will be practicing this week, but no contact
  • Grant Newsome is progressing well
  • Said Karan Higdon “seems good” after leaving the game Saturday with an ankle injury
  • Had positive news on Ty Issac but will know more later in the week
  • “It’s really simple, he’s gotta make the kicks” in regards to Quinn Nordin’s recent struggles
  • “Strap on the iron jock, put the ball through the uprights”
  • Devin Bush is “book smart, football smart”
  • Said team has improved since the Penn State loss
  • Chris Evans “has been good, really good”, “he is surging”, “he’s in a great place now, been extremely valuable to the football team”, also said he’s been blocking better too
  • Nick Eubanks will practice this week but no contact
  • Not sure if Speight will be back this season, will leave that decision up to doctors
  • Lavert Hill is in concussion protocol
