Game recap: Michigan beats Minnesota 33-10

It was all about the run game

The Michigan Wolverines played a game that would have made Bo Schembechler proud, smash-mouth football. Karan Higdon rushed for 200 yards, while Chris Evans rushed for 191. The Michigan defense suffocated the Minnesota Golden Gophers, piling up 5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Michigan won this game easily.

First Quarter

The Brandon Peters era is off to a good start. On Michigan’s first drive of the game, Karan Higdon has a 47 yard run, Peters goes 3-3, and Sean McKeon has a 20 yard touchdown on a tight end screen. Michigan leads 7-0

Minnesota answers right back with an impressive sequence. the 10 play 75 yard drive ends with a 10 yard Rodney Smith touchdown run. Game is tied 7-7

On the second play of Michigan’s second drive, the offensive line give Karan Higdon a huge hole to run for a 77 yard touchdown. Michigan leads 13-7

Second Quarter

A two minute drive culminates with a Chris Evans 60 yard touchdown run. Michigan leads 20-7

Third Quarter

Michigan has been unstoppable on the ground today, a five yard touchdown run by Karan Higdon this time. Michigan leads 27-7

This game has been run-heavy for the Wolverines but when run after run keeps gaining mass yardage, why not? Chris Evans has himself a 67 yard touchdown run for his second TD of the day. Michigan leads 33-7

Fourth Quarter

With less than two minutes remaining, Minnesota is able to put more points on the board, a field goal by Emmit Carpenter. Michigan leads 33-10
