Michigan favored by Vegas in Outback Bowl against South Carolina

But an error actually had U-M as underdogs last night

If you are one to bet on big time college football games, get ready to throw down your money on some interesting betting lines this bowl season.

According to VegasInsider.com, the Michigan Wolverines are currently a 9.5-point favorite over the South Carolina Gamecocks in New Year’s Day’s Outback Bowl.

But before the Wolverines were ever that big of favorites, VegasInsider.com actually published an incorrect betting line that had the Gamecocks as 8.5-point favorites. That false line eventually grew to 9.5 in favor of South Carolina.

After the error was noticed, it was correct to a 7-point spread in favor of the Wolverines. That number has now grown to 9.5.

Other Big Ten Spreads

  • Wisconsin (-6.5) against Miami (FL) in the Orange Bowl on 12/30
  • Ohio State (-6.5) against USC in the Cotton Bowl on 12/29
  • Penn State (-3) against Washington in the Fiesta Bowl on 12/30

The betting lines for Michigan State and Northwestern’s bowl games have not been announced yet.
