It was talked about all offseason long — Michigan had the fewest returning starters in the FBS, including just one starter on defense.
Well, one of those new starters on defense was just put into a small list of elite players in the country.
It was announced Thursday night that Michigan sophomore linebacker Devin Bush was named to the Second Team All-American list from the Walter Camp Football Foundation, along with fellow Wolverine defender Maurice Hurst.

The Associated Press’ and the Football Writers Association of America’s list will be announced on Dec. 11. The Sporting News will unveil its list on Dec. 12 while the American Football Coaches Association release its list Dec. 13. The consensus list is announced by the NCAA Dec. 14.
Bush put up an insane stat line of 94 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 1 INT and 8 PBU’s throughout the 2017 regular season. He was also named one of the five finalists for the Butkus Award, which is awarded to the nation’s best linebacker.
Bush flashed a lot of promise throughout the season, his most memorable performance being in Week 3 against the Air Force Falcons when he finished with 11 total tackles and 1 sack.
He showed his true sideline to sideline speed on a crucial fourth down stop with a sack on Falcon quarterback Arion Worthman, as seen in the video below.
With Michigan set to return Bush along with the majority of this suffocating Wolverine defense, expect to see Devin back in All-American consideration next season.
