About Michigan State
It’s been a short three weeks since these teams faced each other. The Spartans snapped a long losing streak at Yost beating the Wolverines 3-0 before tying the next night and falling in the shootout. The following week Michigan welcomed Ohio State and split a series while the Spartans were swept by Wisconsin.
Not much has changed since the last meeting, however, goal scoring has picked up a bit for the Spartans. Patrick Khodorenko is still really good and the upperclassmen have stepped up.
Their goaltending situation hasn’t gotten better. Ed Minney started against Wisconsin and was pulled after a period; the next night John Lethemon wasn’t bad but gave up 4 goals on 24 shots.
For Michigan
Last weekend was...interesting. Michigan played the 11th ranked team in the country without a handful of their best players and scored 10 goals. They also blew 3rd period leads in both games and won and lost by 1 goal.
So which team shows up this weekend? It better be the good team because after this weekend the Wolverines go to Wisconsin, to Columbus and host Minnesota and Penn State. These are the last two games this season that they’ll be favored to win.
