It’s been a forgettable season. Tonight, however, wasn’t as bad as the score would indicate.

Give a lot of credit to Michigan. They fought hard tonight and hung with Wisconsin for forty seven minutes; twice in this game Michigan came back from a goal down to tie the score but the Wolverines couldn’t make the final push to get ahead while the Badgers took full advantage of defensive breakdowns to take back the lead.

With the score tied 2-2 on an Evan Allen goal, Michigan took it to the Badgers and played one of their best third periods but when they were given a handful of glorious chances to take the lead they couldn’t do it. Wisconsin did and they converted three times to blow the game open with the final two goals coming within the final four minutes of the game. Of course, the goal that put the game out of reach was scored by Jarod Zirbel and it was his first of the season. It’s been that kind of a year.

The season series concludes tomorrow at the Kohl Center, 7:00pm CST.
